Creating Timeless Holiday Decor That Brings Joy Year After Year

Do you love making holiday decor for your home? I sure do! The best part isn't just the satisfaction of finishing a project, but the joy that comes a year later when you rediscover your creations.

This year, I whipped up the Crochet Holiday Cheer Blanket in just a couple of days. It's super quick and easy, thanks to Caron Anniversary Cakes in the festive Holly Jolly colour.

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Do you have any holiday decor memories that bring you joy year after year?

At the end of the season, I'll pack this blanket away with the rest of my holiday decorations. Chances are, I'll forget all about it until next year. Then, when I unpack everything, it's like a delightful surprise all over again!

Instantly, I'll be like... "Oh my gosh, I totally forgot I made this!" It brings back wonderful memories and fills me with joy.

Holiday Decor

Holiday decor, especially here in Canada with our long nights, can really spark creativity and bring a lot of joy when we're missing out on sunlight.

My friend Michelle and I did a fun exchange of services so I could get access to her pattern. I filmed an entire video series on these adorable Super Cute Crochet Tissue Box Covers.

Without a doubt, the elf is my favourite! I even used my eye colour for Santa and Daniel's eye colour for the elf. These covers bring me joy every year, and I find it hard to part with them because I love them so much.

I feel the exact same way when I put up our Christmas decorations. I have many decorations I’ve made, like all the holiday-themed blankets (ok, maybe I have too many of those 😂), as well as decorations from family members. There’s something so special when I see decorations that my grandparents had…reminds me of them and Christmases from so long ago. I also have parts of a Christmas blanket that my Grandma started and never completed. One day I plan to finish the blanket, but with my own twist so it’s something that I can feel like we did together, even though she passed fifteen years ago.
