Crochet Seagull Pattern in Mikey's Office
The crochet seagulls in Mikey's office are crocheted by a local crocheter called Idle Handscrochet. She specializes in selling Amigurumi locally here in Nova Scotia. The crochet seagulls are my most favourite thing ever. I call them my pattern gulls. Pattern. Pattern. Pattern.

Homemade Magnetic Yarn Unwinding Tool
Mikey got hooked on a yarn magnetic holder to unwind balls from the outside that are floating on a magnet. Since he found this several years ago, he's been using it daily, but realized there may be a problem with it. It created an opportunity to make a homemade contraption that he is currently using in his TV Room as he crochets.

What yarn winders and yarn swifts do I recommend?
I use two different yarn ball winders consistently. Both have properties that separate them from each other. Notice that either of them is battery-powered or powered in any way. Hand cranking is strongly recommended. I will share why below.

The Study of Crochet Series by Mikey Pattern
The Crochet Study Series unofficially started in 2013 when Mikey decided to try to freeform a blanket pattern. Using yarn, unknowingly to him, that was already scheduled for discontinuance, Bernat Mosaic. Today, in 2026, there are over 20 designs in the Study of Series, with more being produced each year. You can find all of the studies here.
The blanket was square, and you will see some resemblance to the first officially launched pattern that would come out 4 years late
