You may get involved with charities that ask you to crochet specific-sized granny squares, like the one pictured here. With granny squares, you can stop at any time to get the size they request.

This is option 1 going in a continuous round. It causes the center to slightly twist.

The size shown here is 12” x 12”. I crocheted a maple leaf because it was part of a Canadian initiative in winter 2026. You can find the maple leaf pattern here

Well Written Instructions and a Beginner Friendly Pattern

I am familiar with this method of making a Granny Square in Continuous Rounds, although it has been a while since I have made one. The written instructions are thorough and easy to follow. When I finish this Afghan, I will gift it to one of my children. I have good luck and success using Mikey's patterns and YouTube Videos. I highly recommend making this Granny Square. And check out the Crochet Crowd on You Tube.

Mikey, you do a great job explaining stitches and demos and making easy to follow patterns. I love your tutorials and you have helped me from beginner to intermediate crocheting. Don't stop the tutorials and being you!
